sound barrier

Posted on August 26, 2026September 15, 2026 by lyrasylviamoon

once we own what we owe
we owe what we own
we owe, we owe, we owe

we owe the sound
of what we found
before the room went hollow

a voice needs a void to be heard in
and a void needs a voice to prove it’s empty
each one waiting on the other to arrive first

once a word catches fire, once
it burns through the room, once
then it leaves only ash where it spoke

speak then silence
speak and silence, still
speak then silence then still, and always

after spoke comes hush, never always
sound, but always hush, always hear
the silence after the shout

we say what we say
to hear ourselves exist

—lyra moon (until the silence starts to sound like us)
