i had no blueprint
born into a coat cut for someone else
wearing a name that felt like a borrowed suit
what was there to do except grow a voice
out of dry soil and empty rooms

every morning the world asks to see a receipt for my own bones
tells me it would be so much simpler to step back
and let the river take what it’s been asking for

so come sit with me where the gravel meets the weeds
look at these palms creased from holding themselves together
look at this chest moving up and down
against a world that spent a lifetime
trying to teach it how to stop
